Ice and Easy Ice Ball cocktail ice arrives in special packaging for safe transit and long-term storage. We recommend placing the box in a freezer immediately upon arrival, and keeping the ice balls in the box, well sealed in a freezer to ensure food safety and a long-shelf life.

Here is how Ice Caters Control Temp packaging works:

The ice balls are packed in a box that is lined with special space-age insulating material that keeps the ice in frozen for up to 24 hours from the time it shipped, which if by FEDEX was probably about 18-20 hours before you receive it.

When it shipped, a small amount of dry ice was placed inside the box to keep the temperature inside the box down well below the freezing temperature of ice. Do not touch if any dry ice remains in the box. It probably is already gone, because dry ice sublimates (turns from a solid into a gas) in 12-24 hours after being inserted. But even without dry ice, the packaging will keep the ice creation frozen for another 4-6 or so hours if kept in a cool dry place.

So that means, even after you pull the case from your own freezer for use at an event, you can keep the ice balls fresh and frozen behind the bar or under a table even without a freezer.(If you keep them in the original box sealed, not open!)
